We officially started flag football in 1960 when the Commish got his drivers license and could transport the goons up to Glendale college so we could play on a grass field rather than on the asphalt of Cedar Street. But records were not kept until 1968, therefore we had to guesstimate who played and how many times during those early years. In so doing, we ended up with a conservative figure of 10 games per year. This added 80 games to the known games of 149 (1968 to 1982).

This means the NSAA hosted 229 flag football games in 23 years. The question then arises, has this EVER happened in the entire history of Glendale, California, where the same bunch of guys played 229 days of pickup football on the fields of schools and parks in the City? I dont think so. This is a testimony to just how unbelievably unique the NSAA actually was.
